Deredia in Miami: A Bridge of Light

 

 

The city of Miami will host the exhibition of monumental sculptures titled “Jiménez Deredia in Miami - A Bridge of Light” from the 12th of October 2022 to the 31st of March 2023 at Maurice A. Ferré Park presented by the Bayfront Park Management Trust and the Museum of the Cuban Diaspora.

In this exhibition, the circular and ovoid shapes present in the artist’s sculptures accompany the viewer on a fluid and harmonious path which becomes a wonderful open-air gallery. The exhibition by artist Jimenez Deredia at Maurice A. Ferré Park encourages the dialogue between art and public spaces as a vital and socially relevant form. It is a combination gifted with strength that is visible in the emotion caused by the urban landscape in front of the sculptures. The aim of this exhibition is to promote not only the coexistence between people, but also the possibility of living a unique aesthetic experience. Miami becomes a bridge of light to the world and Jiménez Deredia’s art a message of hope
